What you’ll be doing:

As a Software Engineer, you will work with a diverse team of talented engineers to design, build and deploy solutions for our customers. You will be using the latest technologies to provide solutions that are highly available and operate at scale.

Key tasks:

  • Define, develop and test new user-facing features.
  • Own features and bugfixes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work with our UI and UX designers to deliver incredible user experiences.
  • Work with other developers and stakeholders in feature development.
  • Interpret product requirements and respond with a coherent technical solution.
  • Keep abreast of advances in the field and make recommendations for future technology choices.
  • Collaborating with our engineering, product, UX, and architecture teams to enhance our technology stack and product base.
  • Creating engaging demonstrations to showcase our products and our latest R&D developments.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have these skills:

We recognise that demonstrable skills in all these technologies is not easy to find. Don’t let that stop you from applying! We can work in partnership to identify your strengths and provide you with the training necessary to fill any gaps.

  • You will be proficient in JavaScript and have worked with at least one of our core technologies: Node.js and React. You will also be able to evaluate new technologies.
  • Delivering and deploying our technology stack requires familiarity with Linux, Git, MongoDB, OpenSearch and Apache.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively articulate ideas, identify problems early, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with the team is a must.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to actively contribute to ongoing planning and roadmap execution.
  • Experience with defining concrete requirements based on client specifications.
  • You understand how to create solutions that are secure, highly available, resilient, and scalable.
  • You will be technically proficient with a good understanding of the software development lifecycle. Your strengths will include good analytical and fault-finding skills.
  • Familiarly with working with large intricate codebases, as well as an understanding of how these should be structured to promote long term maintainability.
  • Familiarity with React Contexts would be advantageous.
