CNC Turner

Permanent Staff | Cambridge

The Company

The Role

  • Operating CNC machinery, especially Doosan CNC Lathe, and if required CNC milling machine (training will be provided).
  • Understanding and operating on Fanuc controls.
  • CAM software experience - preferable Autodesk software but training will be provided.
  • Turn and/or mill with all metals.
  • Read schematics, assembly drawings, data sheets and process sheets.
  • Perform maintenance when necessary.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
  • Great working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will be a team player willing to turn their hand to almost any task in a science led production environment. You will need to be a problem solver with a range of practical skills and an energetic and positive approach to working life.   

  • Hands on process modification and mechanical works.
  • Safety trained.
  • Flexible: To deal with the changes required in a scale up business.
  • Pragmatic: To be able to translate strategy and plans into tangible projects and progress on the ground.
  • Collaborative: To allow good working relationships with external parties and internal support teams.

You will have experience in the following:

  • Experience in the operation of CNC turning machinery, including Milling & Turning machinery (minimum 5 years).
  • Production experience.

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • CAD/CAM
  • Manual machining
