The School and Role 

We are seeking people experienced in behaviour management to support students with integration back into mainstream education. 

You will be working with a range of alternative provisions and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) catering to the educational needs of students requiring specialized support. From alternative schools offering flexible learning environments to PRUs providing tailored curricula and pastoral care. These provisions prioritise individualised attention, therapeutic interventions, and academic support, empowering students facing challenges such as behavioural issues, exclusion from mainstream education, or complex learning needs to thrive. Through innovative approaches and dedicated staff, these establishments foster a supportive community where every student can reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. 

Behaviour managers in alternative provisions and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a positive and safe learning environment. You are expected to have a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions tailored to the needs of diverse student populations. Patience, empathy, and resilience are key qualities required to effectively address challenging behaviours and support students in developing social and emotional skills.  

The desired Behaviour Manager will: 

  • You will have experience of working with vulnerable children or adults.  

  • You will have a DBS or be willing to undergo a DBS check.  

  • Work closely with teachers, support staff and external agencies.  

  • Implement students' individual behaviour plans, and EHCP’s where applicable.  

  • Offer Students Social, Emotional and Mental Health support.  

  • Be flexible and adaptable.
