Engage Talent Partners are working exclusively with our client, based South of Aberdeen to recruit a Workshop Manager.

Our client is a company who operates in the oil and gas, nuclear, renewables and industrial sectors and you would be joining them at a very exciting time as they have had a very successful year to date with contract wins and they aspire to grow further over the next few years.

This role will report to the Technical Director and provide day to day leadership and supervision of the workshop staff who are responsible for carrying out construction, assembly and testing activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies and working practices to improve and streamline operations within the workshop.
  • Produce and analyse key performance indicators for management meetings.
  • Liaise with supply chain manager to ensure correct and adequate stock is held ready for projects.
  • Create weekly plans to communicate ongoing activities within workshop to technicians and engineers.
  • Responsible for materials received, handling, identification and stores tracking.
  • Plan and organise testing within the workshop.
  • To provide day to day leadership and supervision of the Workshop staff and ensure sufficient company policies, standards and guidelines are met.
  • To provide on-going support and mentoring of trainees.
  • To ensure that all staff always undertake their duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that staff, systems and resources are used in the workshop to meet departmental requirements and standards in order to provide excellent levels of customer service.
  • Operation of company vehicles including van, truck and forklift truck.
  • To attend company training courses as required by company to ensure level of competency is maintained.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in a similar workshop role, familiar with planning and prioritising workloads. You should be able to read and understand technical documents such as test procedures, FAT and P&ID’S.
