Experienced Vehicle/HGV Mechanic required for permanent role at Ipswich based company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing various vehicles from Cars, Vans and some HGVs, including trucks, lorries, and trailers. The HGV Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of vehicles to support the smooth operation of transportation services.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of vehicles to identify and address any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on vehicels, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and lubrication to extend the lifespan of vehicles and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform safety checks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or similar role, ideally some experience of fleet maintenance.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of all types of engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other components.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (preferred).
• Certification from a recognized automotive or technical institution (preferred).
