City Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to help drive impactful change. As a Community Fundraiser, you will be responsible to raise money from the community and events across Cardiff, work with volunteers and encourage fundraising opportunities. Job Purpose: As a Community Fundraiser, you will be responsible for raising money from community initiatives and events across Cardiff. Your efforts will directly support the vital services we provide to those in need. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Fundraising Development: Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities within the Cardiff community. Support & Compliance: Support existing fundraising groups to ensure activities are conducted legally and ethically. Community Engagement: Build relationships with schools, community groups, and organisations to secure fundraising pledges and organise events. Patient & Family Support: Assist patients and families who wish to fundraise, ensuring sensitivity to their vulnerabilities. Event Representation: Identify popular third-party events for City Hospice representation and recruit participants. Public Engagement: Attend cheque presentations, community talks, and present at schools and community groups. Fundraising Initiatives: Manage supermarket and private site collections, identify Charity of the Year partnerships, and create initiatives like Donate A Day. Support & Advice: Provide accurate advice to supporters, manage Collection Tins placements, and update the Raisers Edge database. Volunteer Coordination: Liaise with and manage volunteers during awareness stands and events. Collaboration & Compliance: Work with colleagues to support and recognize supporters, stay updated with fundraising developments, and ensure compliance with the Code of Fundraising Practice and legislation. Other Responsibilities: Performance Management: Work with the Fundraising & Events Manager to meet business objectives and participate in performance reviews. Safety & Legal Compliance: Conduct all activities safely, legally, and in compliance with charity policies, including the Charities Act 1992, Health & Safety legislation, and GDPR laws. Confidentiality & Other Duties: Maintain confidentiality and perform any other duties as directed by the Fundraising & Marketing Director. About You: You are a motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for community engagement. You have a proven track record in fundraising, event planning, or a related field. You are organised, creative, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You are committed to ethical fundraising and have a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
