Job Summary

You will be required to ensure the efficient and secure processing of passengers through the Port of Dover, with a strong emphasis on safety and flexibility, reporting to a Team Leader and together ensuring the seamless flow of passengers.

Your role as an EES Port Service Operative is crucial for passenger processing. Utilising smart technology you will be required to verify passenger passports, capture clear photographs, and allow passengers to scan their fingerprints, ensuring all information has been accurately recorded onto the system and delivering high standards of customer service through the whole process.

Flexibility is essential as you may be required to work across multiple sites, responding to operational demands throughout the day. Due to the port's 24/7 operation, shifts will fall outside of regular hours, including weekends and night shifts.

This is a full-time position due to start in the Autumn, and working hours will be 42 per week.

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing position, ideally within the travel industry
  • Technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting portable smart devices
  • A proven track record in problem solving
  • Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional manner under pressure
  • Have strong reasoning, negotiation and organising skills
  • Have a good eye for detail
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Full UK driving licence would be an advantage
