Canterbury Cathedral is the cathedral of the archbishop of Canterbury, the leader of the Church of England and symbolic leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Located in Canterbury, Kent, it is one of the oldest Christian structures in England and forms part of a World Heritage Site.
We are seeking an experienced and talented individual to ensure that the Cathedral meets its statutory requirements to current Fire, Health and Safety legislation.
We are looking for a talented individual to join our team who has the following:
- assisting in devising implementing policies and guidance across the organisation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections ensuring safety standards are met and adhered to.
- Deliver bespoke Fire, Health and Safety Training across the organisation.
- Support teams in completion of risk assessments and carry out COSHH assessments.
- Champion ways to improve the Cathedrals Fire, Health and safety standards.
- Delivery improvements in all Fire, Health and Safety processes
- Ensure contractors are approved and provide the correct documentation.
- Support teams in investigations of accidents and incidents.
- Lead meetings with contracted organisations to share and promote best practice.
- Support the Chair of the Health and Safety Committee
This is a challenging, wide ranging, hands-on role that requires a good all-round aptitude for Health and Safety, plenty of enthusiasm, and an ability to work with a wide variety of departments and people.
