Owens Group are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team


Job PurposeResponsible for ensuring that employers and workers comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to.


Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday

Reporting to - Head of SHEQ

Location - South Wales


Specific Qualifications/ Job Training

  • NEBOSH Qualification minimum
  • 3-5 years' experience of working in a similar background
  • Experience of managing operating under ISO management systems

Specific Key Accountabilities

  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced
  • Assist with the design, implement and continually review the Health/Safety policies, procedures and management systems necessary to promote a safe working environment that complies or exceeds legislative requirements, and to provide advice and guidance to all levels of the organisation, with an aim to minimise risk of injury/ill health.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
  • Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy
  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
  • Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health & Legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
  • Produce management reports.
  • Ensure equipment is installed safely
  • Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases
  • Work with respective teams to have a common approach to compliance manage and lead improvement initiatives across the organisation.
  • Performing any other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.



Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
