We are seeking final year students in Electrical Engineering and allied disciplines for roles in our Power Generation & Energy business specialisation.


Power Generation

Within our Power Generation & Utilities business, we integrate technology, experience, and people to deliver large scale Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) solutions, industrial Combined Heat & Power (CHP) with Island mode and critical service standby diesel generators. We provide feasibility studies and system design for embedded generation projects including solar panels, wind turbines and battery storage. We also provide fully versatile and robust solutions for Balance of Plant (BOP) operations and Electrical Protection Systems.

 

What will I be doing?

Our graduate programme will be all about learning new and developing your existing skills. Over a two-year period, you will be placed in projects where you get to do meaningful work and contribute to the business.

Projects could include HV/MV electrical design, power generation, PLC and SCADA automation, control logic programming, control panel hardware design, and site testing & commissioning.

You will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art engineering software for control and protection design and substation layouts. You will also get to use leading-edge power system modelling software to run steady state and transient electrical studies, including short circuit studies, protection coordination and grid compliance studies for proposed renewable generation.

Generating technical documentation and dealing with customers will also be key parts of our graduate programme to help develop your soft skills. You will also have the opportunity to travel to customer sites to get involved in installation, testing, and commissioning.
