We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic experienced Engineer who has direct working knowledge of Core Networks to include Circuit Switching, Packet Switching, SIP, VOLTE and messaging (SMS) and is committed to their work and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment. The role will be responsible for the support and expansion of a global core network. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with strong Telecoms experience to demonstrate their technical and organisational ability, working in a small team of experienced engineers at the cutting edge of IoT technologies. This role is a 9-month contract and will be based onsite, full-time, in Sandyford.

 

In this role you will be:

  • Responsible for supporting the core network elements. Performing troubleshooting and analysis of network incidents.
  • Providing input and collaborating with other team members developing, implementing, integrating, and monitoring network team projects.
  • Expanding the network monitoring capability.
  • Ensuring consistent uptime of the core network.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for vendors and other teams.
  • Participating in knowledge transfer to and from fellow engineers.

 

The Person

  • Technologies required: SMSC, OPGW, IMS Core, GMSC
  • Knowledge of: SIP, IMS Volte, VMware , PRTG, Jira, BASH
  • Experience of implementing telecoms integrations.
  • Experience with Wireshark network analyser and scripting languages an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in telecoms support or Degree in Computer/Telecoms Engineering.
  • Proven track record in working with small teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting network issues.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Desire to learn from and collaborate with peers.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Previous experience working to aggressive timelines essential.
  • Commitment to provide a high quality and professional service.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for the completion of tasks.
  • Ability to prioritise work tasks.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to support out-of-hours work where required and on-call rota.
