Newly renovated and extensively refurbished, The Plaza Hotel. 

 Over the last 2 years, the entire interior of the 4 star hotel has been extensively refurbished, now comprising of exciting new eateries. The hotel now offers 122 spacious, comfortable and ensuite bedrooms along with a number of large suites. Two large and naturally lit event spaces, together with 4 meeting suites allow for conferences and events of all sizes, ranging from 5-200 people. 

 

Job Title: Night Manager

Reports to: General Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary: The Night Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during the night shift. This role includes managing the front desk, overseeing staff, handling guest or customer issues, ensuring security and safety, and preparing reports for the morning shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Management:
  • Oversee and manage all night staff.
  • Ensure that all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct nightly briefings to communicate necessary information to staff.
  1. Guest Relations:
  • Address and resolve guest or customer inquiries, complaints, or requests.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained throughout the night.
  • Monitor and handle late check-ins and early check-outs.
  1. Security and Safety:
  • Ensure the security of the building and guests by conducting regular checks.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as fire alarms or medical situations, and coordinate with relevant authorities.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  • Prepare and submit nightly reports, including occupancy rates, financial transactions, and incidents.
  • Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, such as credit card settlements and cash transactions.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
  1. Operations:
  • Oversee the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for any urgent repairs or issues.
  • Ensure that all public areas are clean, well-lit, and secure.
  1. Communication:
  • Act as the main point of contact between night staff and management.
  • Relay important information to the morning shift, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Provide feedback to staff and management on areas for improvement.
  1. Other Duties:
  • Perform other tasks as required to support the overall operations of the business.
  • Assist in training new night staff and ensure they are properly integrated into the team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in hospitality management or a similar role, preferably in night operations.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

  • Schedule: This is a full-time position that typically requires working overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements

 

   The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years' experience as Night Manager/Assistant Manager role in a 4* hotel setting
