Role Profile

We have an exciting opportunity in National Retrofit Directorate's Delivery Department reporting to the Head of Delivery.


The position of Programme Manager - Solar PV and Microgen will play a key role in the achievement of Ireland's Climate Action Plan.

 

As Programme Manager - Solar PV and Microgen you will lead and manage the SEAI programme and a small team for this important national programme. The key objective is to promote the rollout of solar PV and other microgeneration technologies supporting goal attainment in of the Climate Action Plan.

 

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI's mission and our associated climate action goals. 


Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering, Science, Architecture or Energy Management/Retrofit.  
  • A minimum of five years' experience of working in this or a related sector or in a similar role.
  • Strong project management and organisation skills and knowledge of business process development including change management, process management and reengineering and quality control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.


Desirable Requirements
  • Experience of managing a team and staff development.
  • Knowledge of Solar and other microgeneration technologies including specific expertise in the design and deployment of PV systems.
  • Industry experience ideally in the solar or microgeneration sector.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Experience of IT projects. 


Eligibility to Work

The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate's application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested. Failure to submit the required evidence, and failure to hold a valid permit/visa during the period of the contract, will result in the application and/or contract of employment being rendered void.
