Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Windsor, Berkshire

We are looking for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly independent practice in Windsor, Berkshire.

This role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts between 8:30am and 6:30pm, along with 1 in 5 full weekends. When the vets have worked a weekend, they receive the following Monday and Friday off in lieu. You will be on-call until 9pm once a week but there will be no OOH work.

You must hold a full UK driver's licence as branch work is involved.

Key details:

• Type: Small animal
• Hours: Full time, 4 days per week, shifts between 8:30am and 6:30pm
• Weekends: 1 in 5 weekends
• TOIL: Monday and Friday off following any weekend work
• Sole charge: Yes, on weekends with nurse support
• OOH: None
• On-call: 1 day per week, until 9pm
• Branch work: Yes
• Team: 7 vets, 11 nurses and a supportive reception team

Requirements for the role:

• Previous experience within a small animal practice.
• Previous large animal experience advantageous
• Excellent communications skills
• Computer literate
• RCVS registered
• Hold a full UK drivers license
• Strong organisation and time management skills

About them:

Fully independent practice who are highly respected in the area for offering the highest level of care possible.The practice offers great facilities such as orthopaedic equipment, electrocardiography and doppler ultrasound, in house laboratory, imaging suite, separate cat and dog wards, dental treatments, and dermatology referral clinics.

About you:

• They are ideally looking for someone with 2 years' experience in a small animal practice. Previous experience working with large animals would be advantageous
• You must be confident speaking to clients and enjoy being a clinical vet with good all-round veterinary skills, excellent customer service skills
• You will be a team player
• You must hold a full driving licence and drive own car which must be insured for business use
• You would be required to live within an agreed commuting distance from the practice
• You will be able to work well under pressure
• You will be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Package:

• Salary: Starting at £35,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 27 days annual leave
• CPD: Generous allowance
• Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BSAVA fees paid
• Revenue generated bonus scheme

• RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
