Every month, over 400 million people globally engage with us through websites, social media, events and magazines, with our content reaching 1 in 3 adults online in both the UK & the US. We have category leading brands in Women’s Lifestyle, Gaming, Tech, Sport and Homes - such as Marie Claire, WhoWhatWear, Techradar, Tom’s Guide, PCGamer, Gamesradar, Golf Monthly, FourFourTwo, Homes & Gardens and Livingetc to name a few!

Our audience department, where this role sits, supports all of our brands and is composed of SEO, Social Media and content experts, working to reach and build audiences for Future’s diverse online brands. Within this department, the Social Media and Video team works to meet the needs of all the brands across the group and to develop a long-term sustainable video strategy that grows and engages audiences on social media platforms.

The purpose of this role is to create new video franchises and formats that bring our brands incredible editorial strategies to life across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter.  The Head of Video Development is a creative powerhouse, full of ideas, addicted to data and determined to help our editorial teams build their reach and delight audiences across the UK and the US. 

Our editorial teams have an unrivalled level of industry knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. This, coupled with access to all the latest products, events, shows and news stories in their field, provides an enticing base on which to build creative, exciting and entertaining video content.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

  • Understand how to optimise content across different social video platforms (YouTube, IG, FB, TikTok). 
  • Experience developing new show formats for a digital audience including format setting and casting. 
  • Experience in developing, designing and setting visual identity for video franchises.
  • Experience in using social analytics to understand content performance and how this can feed into ongoing creative development of formats
  • Understanding of copyright across video platforms. 
  • Experience managing junior team members.
  • Understand how to develop digital formats, and write supporting decks. 
  • Knowledge and experience of using Photoshop & Canva, and be confident producing designs high quality enough to publish online.

The expected range for this role is £52,000 - £70,000

This is a Hybrid role from our Bath Office, working three days from the office, two from home
