Job purpose

The QC Operator will be working as part of a team to ensure that all Digital Cinema Content created, mastered and distributed at MPS is delivered to the highest possible standards and are in line with the specifications that the Client requires.

The role is part of a shift pattern and can require overnight and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control of Digital Cinema Content:

  • Run DCP, file based and broadcast QCs and ensure high quality of content and specs are met
  • Ensure that all latest QC procedures and DCI compliance are being followed for all Digital Cinema Content including features, trailers and trade show clips.
  • Lead client-attended theatrical QC sessions as and when needed
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any QC flags

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate a wide range of technical and contextual QC issues to those with a varying level of understanding inside and outside the department.

Planning and Organising:

  • Work closely with the Mastering, Audio and Client Relations teams on a day-to-day basis
  • Escalate any errors or difficulties to the QC Manager and Senior QC Operator where applicable.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must exemplify MPS’s Core Values of Fun, Innovation, Time, and Trust
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

Experience:

  • A track record of successfully delivering time critical projects
  • Experience in Digital Cinema Quality Control in post-production/Cinema environment


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Precise, great attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to understand complex systems and processes
  • Proficient in using Digital Cinema theatre equipment and communication of technical issues
  • Ability to work un a high-pressure environment
  • Familiarity with Linux, Mac & Windows computer environments
  • Passion for film and technology
