Unleash Your Passion for Teaching at the Prestigious 2024 Summer School Programme!

Equal Education Partners is recruiting Academic Tutors of Medicine who are ready to inspire and educate the leaders of tomorrow. Our partner client’s esteemed Summer School 2024 Programme is the perfect platform for you to make a difference.

As an Academic Tutor, you will have the opportunity to guide small groups of eager learners (average group size of 7), aged between 13-18. Your mission? To plan and deliver lessons that not only meet the programme’s learning outcomes but also create unforgettable experiences for these young minds.

The 2024 summer schools run in two-week sessions from 1st July 2024 to 17th August 2024. The sessions available are:

  • 5th August - 16th August 2024

Each session is paid at a minimum hourly rate of £65, with accommodation subsidy available should it be required.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a two-week course in your subject, filled with engaging, challenging, and interactive lessons for 4 hours each day, Monday to Friday.
  • Provide a comprehensive course overview in advance of the programme, including any resource requirements and full lesson plans if requested by the academic team.
  • Supply any preparatory tasks or materials to your participants that you deem necessary and beneficial in advance of the programme.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance throughout the programme.
  • Provide detailed, productive written feedback and suggestions for further development for each student after the programme.
  • Create a personal project outline for each student to complete during lesson time and provide 1:1 support to enable successful completion of this project.

Requirements

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in tutoring and/or supervising undergraduate students.
  • Familiarity with the Oxbridge style of intimate, small group learning and discussion.
  • Capability to teach a diverse range of topics within your subject area.
  • Current PhD candidate or above at Oxford or Cambridge University, or a similarly esteemed institution.

Desirable Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with residential summer schools or summer camps.
  • Experience in teaching students aged 13-18.
  • Proficiency in teaching non-native students.
