THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Website Manager to oversee our website's strategy, performance, and development. The Senior Website Manager will lead a team of two specialists: one focused on building and optimizing website content and SEO, and the other on web design and front-end development. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and technical skills to ensure our website effectively supports our business objectives, delivers a superior user experience, and adheres to our company brand guidelines. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes customer journeys and experiences, ensuring that customer requirements drive our web development and site improvements.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES.

Strategic Oversight

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive web strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to keep the website competitive and innovative.
  • Establish and measure KPIs to demonstrate the website's impact on business objectives.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the CMS & SEO Manager and the Web Design & Front-End Development Specialist, ensuring clear goals and robust support.
  • Foster collaboration between web marketing, business systems, IT, and other stakeholders, including the extended marketing team, to ensure cohesive and efficient project execution across all of Foundry’s web properties. 
  • Run sprints, retros, and daily stand-ups to prioritize team focus.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Develop governance models for website updates and prioritization.

Website Content and Experience

  • Coordinate with the CMS & SEO specialist to ensure content is optimized for search engines and aligns with the brand's voice and marketing strategy.
  • Oversee content updates and ensure consistency across the website, adhering to SEO best practices.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to improve the website’s usability and functionality, implementing changes based on user feedback to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Take ownership of e-commerce initiatives, including managing campaigns, addressing abandoned baskets, and executing retention campaigns.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure the website is visually appealing, user-friendly, and technically sound.
  • Ensure the implementation of responsive design principles to provide an optimal user experience across all devices.
  • Oversee technical audits and updates to ensure website performance, speed, and reliability.
  • Support the team in implementing security protocols and maintaining the website’s integrity.

Project Management

  • Lead web projects from conception to completion, including new site launches, redesigns, and major updates.
  • Set project timelines, allocate resources, and manage budgets effectively.
  • Translate marketing requests into technical requirements and collaborate with the technical web leadership team in IT.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Monitor website analytics and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of the web strategy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on web traffic, user behavior, and other key metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop a CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) plan to enhance the website's success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, IT, Web Development, or experience in related field.
  • Proven experience in website management, with a strong understanding of HubSpot, Drupal and Magento.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with Agile preferred.
  • Proficiency in web analytics and SEO tools (e.g., GA4, GSC, SEMRush)
  • Demonstrable Experience of CRO and usability testing using tool such as HotJar & VWO.
  • Understanding of website integrations to CRM platforms and other marketing systems 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with both Dev teams and Marketing
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, Java principles highly desirable
