Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced algorithm engineer to join our team, working on the development of tuning algorithms for Forefront RF’s innovative tunable multiplexer technology. The candidate will play a key role in developing algorithms to tune RF filters and cancellation circuits, meeting demanding RF performance requirements inside strict timing limits, and within the practical constraints of embedded mobile communication systems. This role requires creativity and insight, strong theoretical analysis & software skills, combined with an understanding of practical hardware, in order to take algorithms from conception through to integration with hardware prototypes and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Devise and implement algorithms for tuning adaptive RF circuits, developing innovative solutions to complex problems
  2. Apply mathematics to describe physical systems and identify algorithm concepts
  3. Develop software for system modelling and algorithm prototyping
  4. Analyze simulation and measurement data to identify system characteristics relevant to algorithm design and performance
  5. Develop solutions to address practical problems such as temperature drift, manufacturing variation, and circuit imperfections.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate, debug, characterize and optimize algorithms in prototypes and products, ensuring robust and reliable operation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and solve complex problems creatively.
  • Strong background in the mathematics of physical systems, e.g. control theory, linear systems theory, and circuit theory.
  • Proven experience in developing algorithms interfacing with physical systems; experience with radio systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in developing software for modelling and prototyping algorithms, e.g. using MATLAB. Experience with embedded software development is a plus.
  • Experience integrating software algorithms with hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with issues in real electronic hardware, e.g. noise and manufacturing variation.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and pension contributions.
  • Company Share Option Scheme.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Weekly company lunches.
  • Flexible work hours and remote work options.
