A quick look at the role.

The Regional Sales Manager will motivate, direct and manage a team to achieve the sales targets.

The role holder will develop and implement innovative commercial and marketing strategies to achieve additional profitability for our Industrial and Commercial division through the regional sales and business improvement teams, alongside the Regional Account Managers.

The Regional Sales Manager will also focus on retention and growth for the customer while securing new key accounts and building a pipeline.

  • Leading, supporting and motivating the team to deliver against their set targets utilising employee practices including performance management processes and employee development to meet the business KPI’s and customer requirements.
  • Implementing commercial strategies to retain the customer base and to grow contribution from existing customers through active contact and/or account management. There is also a need to secure new business opportunities by agreeing and developing new and existing products with new customers.
  • Developing and implementing a strategy to secure new key accounts; identify opportunities and build a pipeline, ensuring both product and customer diversification are achieved.
  • Identifying and securing new business tendering opportunities, explore their commerciality, viability, chances of success and fit within the capability of the I&C depot network.
  • Building key internal and external relationships with both customers and suppliers at all levels.
  • Working closely with operations to ensure quality of service and account retention through the Regional Account Manager’s, Business Improvement Manager’s and Account Executives.
  • Accountable for developing new and innovative sales and marketing campaigns using various medias and will have strong presentation, selling, negotiating and influential skills.
  • Providing strong leadership and management skills across sales and account management across varying geographies and customers.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills in sales environment.
  • Strong Commercial background and awareness.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent coaching/development skills.
  • Articulate, confident and assertive.
  • Analytical and able to quickly assess issues and recommend and/or implement solutions.
  • Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively.
  • Experience of building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Solid pragmatic approach to delivering to tight deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
