Requirements

We’re a friendly bunch looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys working with teams and clients. You’ll be a motivated self-starter who keeps to their word and is happy to be held accountable. We’re always learning and looking for ways to improve, and are looking for someone similar. Ideally, you’ll already have 4-5 years of project management experience in software development within an agency environment. You will be leading your own projects with our multidisciplinary teams, and will need to demonstrate comfort with dealing with multiple projects and the usual challenging conversations.

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months. We would like the successful candidate to work 22.5 hours over a week, ideally spread across 4-5 days to provide consistency across your projects, but there is flexibility in hours and working pattern for the right candidate. Our working model is office-based by default, with flexibility to work from home. We’d expect that the initial stage of the contract to be primarily office-based, to get to know our team. We understand everyone’s work and caring responsibilities are different, and can discuss specific days and work hours with suitable candidates which are mutually beneficial. As part of your application please indicate what your preference for the working week would be.

Benefits

The best bit about Rocketmakers is the crew (we know everyone says that, but we actually mean it!). We’re nearly 40 strong and have been going for 17 years. We appreciate what diversity brings to the company and are proud of the culture and people we have in the business.

We have a dynamic structure where everyone is valued and trusted for their own areas of expertise and interest and we appreciate everyone helping others to deliver successful projects.

It’s important to us to do things the right way. We work in small multi-skilled teams using Scrum or Kanban - always aiming to be as agile as we can.

We host a wide range of social activities and do our best to make sure there’s something for everyone who wants to be involved. We truly value our people, investing in health and wellbeing and supporting all team members equally.

We’re owned and run by Richard and Keith who both come from a software engineering and architecture background and who set up the business to be the kind of place they would want to work in.

Our HQ is based just 30 seconds from the train station in central Bath and we are actively involved in the Bristol and Bath tech community, sponsoring lots of local organisations and events. We also like to share our love of tech with schools to encourage the next generation of coders from all backgrounds.
