The TTP Biotech team are seeking a Business Development Lead to grow our market footprint in drug discovery and preclinical tools.

At TTP, we are pioneers in technological innovation, driven by a mission to transform the future of life sciences. We work with leading biotech, pharma and tool providers in tackling the bottleneck in the drug discovery and development cycle, developing bespoke lab automation, high throughput screening tools, liquid handling integration, and microfluidic platforms.

As the Business Development Lead, you’ll play a crucial role in identifying and cultivating strategic business opportunities to drive our expansion in this market. Leveraging your deep industry knowledge and network, you'll build new connections and maintain strong relationships with existing contacts to promote our innovative product development offerings, driving the lead generation through to sales.

You'll work closely with our engineers and scientists, gaining insight into TTP’s deep technical capabilities to support your business development activities, and collaborate with the team to create targeted campaigns and materials that feed into your business development efforts.

You'll also support and involve other team members in growing the market insights and mentor them through the business development journey.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is passionate about exploring new opportunities and has a strong interest in business development. Whhile your background may be in engineering or science, what matters most is your ability to seek out new business opportunities and create viable solutions to meet client's needs.

  • The complexity of our technical work means an excellent academic record with a minimum 2.1 degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline is required.
  • In-depth knowledge related to developing microfluidics, high-throughput screening, assay miniaturisation, biophysical instrumentation, lab automation or other wider biotechnology fields.
  • You follow market trends, and demonstrate capability in uncovering new business opportunities for improving the efficiency of drug discovery and development by new processes, platforms and instruments.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships. You may already have an established network of contacts in biotech and pharma companies in the field of drug discovery and preclinical tools, if not, you are certainly interested in building one.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, about 15% of the time.

Desirable

  • Proven experience in a business development role selling professional services or technical sales.
  • Experience in developing customer relationships.

The above list outlines our ideal candidate, but we know some of you may not apply unless you qualify for all requirements. We believe in the power and importance of diversity, both for our community and the success of our business, so please apply if you meet most of our listed capabilities.
