About the role:

Zinc Network is seeking freelance copywriters to join its talent pool. After approval to join the pool, you will be one of our go-to copywriters when we have relevant briefs on our exciting social-change projects around the world. As one of our copywriters, you will have the unique ability to distil intricate concepts into brilliant, straightforward prose. You may excel at writing long-form content, such as articles and scripts, or punchy short-form content, including social media copy and headlines. Your creativity and adaptability will be key in producing diverse content that engages, informs, and captivates our audiences across our global projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest creative standards across all written work, delivered on time
  • Write engaging copy with personality that conveys complex information in a simple and clear manner

·       Ensure all copy is accurate, fact-checked, and strategically appropriate for the needs of our clients and partners

·       Reviewing your work and others to ensure it is immaculate and meets strategic objectives

  • Work closely with creative, digital, strategy and research, accounts and project management teams to ensure that deadlines and budgets are met
  • Help ensure that our clients are satisfied with the quality of our creative work, and our responsiveness to their needs
  • Participate in client meetings, communicating creative vision and proposals effectively
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality

·       Take feedback well and be prepared to revise your scripts and edits to meet the needs of our clients, partners and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience of short-form, social copy, as well as longer-form copy
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and convey them in a clear, engaging manner
  • Strong research skills
  • A good understanding of social media platforms and their different needs
  • Experience in journalistic copy is desirable
  • Experience in scripting is a plus
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Positive and flexible ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to solve problems
  • Ability to get on well with the team
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred
