We’re seeking a Finance Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial vitality and fiscal integrity of the organisation, leading on the formulation and implementation of strategic financial plans aligned with the organisation's vision and objectives.

The post holder is responsible for the development of meticulous financial forecasts, budgets, and reports including cashflow management, analysing financial data and offering critical insights to guide decision-making, whilst also being responsible for risk management and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulations and safeguarding against financial risks.

The post holder will also take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, which includes managing all aspects of Accounts Receivable, including student invoicing, account reconciliation and debt management; Accounts Payable; cost control and optimisation, payroll administration and tax compliance.

You will need a Professional Certification such as ACA, CIMA, or AAT or equivalent and significant experience in overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, managing financial risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organisation's overall goals.

Requirements

Key Accountabilities

Essential 

  • Professional certifications such as ACA, CIMA, or AAT or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in financial management, financial analysis and budgeting skills.
  • Proven experience in a management role within a small to medium-sized company environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including accounting software and ERP systems, Sage One Cloud based software for accounting and payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, systems and regulations related to finance and accounting in higher education.
  • Ability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organisational goals.

Role Details

Salary: £42k - £45k dependent on experience

Hours of Work: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday. Hybrid working will be considered.
