Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible, with the option to finish early on Fridays)

About the Role:

As our client's new Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing our client's financial records and supporting the directors with month-end and year-end closing processes. You will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date financial records, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Additionally, you will manage supplier relationships, place orders using Sage software, and handle various administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Sage and other software.
  • Record and categorise daily financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor and analyse financial data for improvement opportunities.
  • Place orders with suppliers and ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Manage supplier pricing and support the estimating department.
  • General administrative duties and order processing.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you need to be self-motivated, positive, and driven with excellent relationship-building skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial information clearly are essential. You should have excellent Microsoft Excel skills and be proficient in using Sage software. An understanding of the construction industry is beneficial but not essential.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
