We are currently recruiting for Quality control Inspectors for our client, one the UK's largest suppliers of fresh produce, based in Birmingham, Aston.

Working hours for the Quality Inspector role:

Shifts are 6.00 – 14.30 and 13.30 -22.00 working any 5 out of 7 days, 40h/ week

Your main duties as a quality control inspector will be to allocate the companies clients stock to production and distribution supervisors. Also ensuring that all stock is appropriately identified and stored and used in the correct order.

Your main duties within the quality control inspector department would include;

  • Identifying and allocating stock to be used on a day to day basis by production shifts and ensuring that all stock is appropriately labelled with stock codes.
  • Carry out quality checks on all incoming produce; identify produce as QCPASSED, REJECT or HOLD QC. Prioritise Quality reports based on organaleptic testing and senior management request. 
  • Collect any samples of mango, avocado and paw for trials. 
  • Keeping your managers informed of underlying or possible problems relating to produce.
  • Conducting internal audit and checking of systems as required. 
  • sending damaged or extra products back to production area or reject bay on authorisation of supervisors and to act on picking instructions to make pallets of produce ready for dispatch.
  • When storing goods making sure they are stored in correct temperature regime.
  • Ensure that your areas of the warehouse are kept clean, tidy and safe  especially at the end of the shift.
  • Ensuring that no pallets are left lying around, fire exits are kept tidy, miscellaneous products lying around are put away in the correct areas.
  • Ensure that pallets are stacked correctly, safely and in an optimum manner.
