We are looking for a Retail Shop Assistant to join our Tenterden shop team on a part time basis. The post holder will support the shops trading operation and help maximise the potential revenue from shoppers.

You will be receiving and sorting donations, which requires a good level of understanding of High Street and High End retail fashion. You will have previous experience in a customer facing environment, good communication and customer service skills are essential. You will have good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook.

You will have the ability to adapt to a changing workload, using your own initiative and effectively manage your time. The role involves working alongside and assisting in the management and development of a team of dedicated volunteers; you will have the skills to prioritise workload and provide guidance and training.

You will be able to demonstrate good verbal and written skills and have the ability to undertake computer work. This role will require moving and handling and will also require flexible working across the seven day trading week. The normal working days will be Sunday and Tuesday, working 13 hours per week. Weekend and Bank Holiday working required as part of this role.

Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for children and young people with serious and terminal conditions and their loved ones, across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.

Money raised through our retail outlets helps us to be there for children and families when they need us most.
