About The Role

To ensure good outcomes for young people in need or at risk through the delivery of timely, high quality social work services.

To provide effective day to day management, supervision and support to social workers, newly qualified workers, and students the provision of reflective supervision, direction, guidance and decision making in complex cases.

To ensure the highest standards of social work practice are provided to children and young people, managing performance via Hounslow policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. To undertake regular supervision and appraisal of social workers to ensure an effective service delivery to children, young people and their foster carers and to identify further staff and foster carers’ development.

2. To ensure that Social Workers complete timely statutory visits and to ensure that accurate records are maintained and up to date and recorded on LCS with statutory documentation completed.

3. To support the Team Manager in ensuring the highest professional standards of practice are evidenced through rigorous quality assurance processes in line with statutory guidelines.

4. To chair multiagency strategy discussions and to consider safety plans and positive outcomes for young people in need or at risk through the delivery of timely, high quality social work services.

Your Skills

1. Demonstrable ability to analyse risk and to plan appropriate interventions.

2. The ability to support social work staff in the preparation of reports for court and other purposes, including an in-depth knowledge of the operation of legal proceedings and the ability to develop and implement care plans for looked after children.

3. Ability to co-ordinate and manage the work of the team, balancing needs and resources, including the ability to manage service delivery within budget constraints.

4. Ability to implement & maintain effective standardised systems to monitor performance against departmental standards and external indicators.

Professional Qualifications

1. Degree in Social Work or its equivalent.

2. Social Work England registered
