We have a great opportunity to work as a Kennel & Transport Officer in the East London, Waltham Forest area.
Successful candidates will be responsible for caring of all dogs in the Council facilities. This role requires someone who can drive, with professional experience of working with dogs, of various breeds – not necessarily within a security or close protection setting.
Requirements:
- Experience of working in kennels environment.
- Experience in handling of aggressive and dangerous dogs and associated risks.
- To be aware of the proper use of protective equipment and familiar with the use of such protective clothing and equipment
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and in all weather conditions.
- Clean driving licence
Duties:
- Making sure all dogs are in good health and looked after
- Ensuring daily exercise for all dogs
- Cleaning and maintenance of kennels
- Transportation of dogs safely
Hours: Shift pattern, including weekends and evenings
Pay rate: £12.25/h (to be reviewed after 3 months) (different rates for hours worked outside of standard hours)
Positions will be offered subject to interview, references and possibly DBS checks.
