Principle Mechanical Engineer (Nuclear)

We are recruiting for Principle Mechanical Engineers to support a major defence project on 12 month contracts which are highly likely to extend thereafter.
This exciting project is due to commence so you will be joining right at the beginning of a major project which is scheduled to run for the next decade at least. The concept design phase is approximately 16 months followed by an 18 month detailed design phase so the work will run long term.
The client is offering hybrid working with the option to work from base offices in Warrington, Bristol, Newbury or Leicester. The ability to work remotely will be significant and will grow as the project progresses.
The role is centred around a major glovebox project for a defence client and initially will involve early engagement activities to assess what needs to be done in concept design which will be followed by detailed design. The initial role involves:
- Working with multidisciplinary team collating all existing trial information undertaken by the end client
- Reviewing trials
- Supporting the development of risk reviews; Operator / Technical / Schedule / Environmental
- Review existing design maturity
- Working to confirm if further development work is likely
- Formulating programme schedule
- Contributing to optioneering reviews
- Formulating a conclusion on the way forward (Old design / New design)
Candidates will need to be eligible to gain UK security clearance.
