Description

We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our clients team. As a toolmaker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing various tools, moulds, gauges, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. Your attention to detail and deep understanding of machining processes will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop tooling solutions for new product development and improvement projects.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create precise and accurate tools.
• Operate various machines and tools, such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines to fabricate components and assemble tools.
• Conduct quality inspections on completed tools to ensure they meet the required specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair tools to maintain optimal performance and minimise downtime.
• Implement preventive maintenance measures to extend the lifespan of tools.
• Document and maintain records of tool designs, modifications, and repairs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a toolmaker or in a related field.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and the operation of various machine tools.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming would be a benefit
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in tool fabrication and repair.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them at all times.

This role is a 4-day working week, offering a 3-day weekend. A police check will need to be conducted due to the nature of the work the business produce.
