Based in our clients workshop in Aberdeen, the Technician (T&A) role is to carry out maintenance, diagnosis, repair, assembly and testing of a range of equipment relating to our clients Technologies Products.Preparation of equipment for delivery to client or mobilization for offshore campaigns.Travel overseas and offshore to execute the safe installation/operation of the equipment.

  • Carry out maintenance, inspection & testing of equipment as instructed, following procedures and appropriate documentation, up to the required company quality and certification standards.
  • Carry out inspections, perform troubleshooting and diagnosis on company product line.
  • Complete maintenance records, assembly and test documentation and route cards to ensure records are accurate and kept upto date.
  • Actively participate in daily toolbox talks to discuss safety, maintenance status/tasks, mobilisation/demobilisation updates etc.
  • Report all incidents and non-conformances in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out daily housekeeping of workplace and tools to ensure a clean & safe working environment.
  • Carry out any additional tasks within capabilities as directed by the workshop supervisor or management.
  • Ensure standards of quality are constantly maintained to a high level.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime and shifts as and when required.
  • Participate when required in departmental improvement projects, highlight areas for improvement.
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are always adhered to actively promote good HSE practices. Be responsible for their own and others’ safety.

CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS 

  • Recognized qualification (NC/HNC/SQA etc) within a mechanical, hydraulics or electrical background or the completion of an apprenticeship in relevant subject. Alternatively, a demonstrable track record in a similar field/position. Consideration will be given to provide this training to the right candidate. 

  • Must be familiar with mechanical fitting techniques, pressure systems, pressure testing operations, lifting operations and general workshop activities. 

  • Must have knowledge of Mechanical and Hydraulic systems.  

  • Knowledge of Pneumatic and electrical systems would be considered an advantage but not essential. 

  • Must have the ability to interpret technical drawings, procedures, and hydraulic/electrical schematics. 

  • Hydraulic torquing experience would be beneficial but not essential as training would be given. 

  • Some relevant industrial experience (airline, military, oilfield, automotive, electronic) 

  • Will be required to drive a forklift to undertake the movement, loading and unloading of equipment - (training will be given if required) 

  • Will be required to operate an overhead gantry crane. 

  • Must have basic PC skills and have ability to use Microsoft office applications (i.e., Outlook, Excel & Word) 

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and work effectively with others. 

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. 

  • Flexibility and adaptability within a role to meet the demands of a changing project and organizational needs. 

  • Preferrable to have at least 3 years in a similar role including offshore. 

  • Offshore travel/work is considered a core part of the role. In date certification would be an advantage, will be provided if needed.
