Hours- day shifts - Monday-friday 8am-5pm

The role

To operate a number of different engineering manufacturing machines in our production department and to provide general operational support.

Key Duties;

• To receive and check materials for production

• To set machine in accordance with requirements

• To operate a range of engineering manufacturing machinery

• To check and ensure quality of product is to standard

• To complete records and documentation as required

• To maintain good housekeeping standards

• To report any concerns to Team Leader

• To ensure an effective handover to following shift where appropriate

• To work flexibly as part of the manufacturing team and to support other team members as required

• In all activities, to comply with quality, health & safety and environmental rules and policies

the ideal candidate will have the following

Qualifications/Education standards and level of skills

A minimum of GCSE level education at C grade in English, Maths and Science.

Knowledge and Skills

For general operatives- a knowledge of a mechanical background would be advantageous or any machine minding / production type role

For skilled operatives;

• Experience of milling, turning or any other engineering machinery operation

• The ability to use measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and micrometers

• Experience of producing a detailed quality product

• The ability to meet high standards on a consistent basis

• A self-motivated and focused attitude

• The ability to work flexibly within the team and to support team members

• The ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings
