Nexgen Locum are recruiting for our client in Richmond-upon-Thames who seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join their team. You will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager, ensuring the highest quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years old.

About the role:

  • Work alongside the Registered Manager to provide excellent leadership and support to the nursery team.
  • Actively participate in developing and implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, fostering engaging learning experiences.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and involved in their child's progress.
  • Support the Registered Manager with administrative tasks.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing ideas and contributing to decision-making.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment for children, adhering to all safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluating the nursery's performance, contributing to improvement initiatives.
  • Representation of the nursery, promoting its services to the local community. The nursery work very closely with the attached Church so it is important that these beliefs are respected.
  • Be happy to step in when needed to
  • Commutation is absolute key , need to be able to communicate in an articulate and positive manor.

Person specification:

  • Qualified Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or equivalent level 3 qualification.
  • DBS on the Update Service
  • First Aid certificate with at least 1 year remaining.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role within an early years setting.
  • Have successfully gone through an OFSTED inspection within past 12 months.
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practice.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new skills.
  • A passionate commitment to providing high-quality care and education for young children.
  • It is important that you will have a good understanding of the Government funding and the new Funding that is about to launch in April.
