About the candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, organised, professional and confident person with excellent ethical work to join our dynamic team as a Clinical Lead Nurse. A flexible approach and strong work ethic are crucial in this role. The ideal candidate would be competitive, hard-working and good at multitasking.

About the Role

  • Undertake Assessment, Risk Assessments and other assessments appropriate to client’s need and own knowledge and skills as an assessor.
  • Assist with hospital discharge arrangements and the development of new packages of care.
  • In conjunction with the client, family and informal carers exercise own professional judgement to refer to other than health professionals when necessary, GP, local or specialist hospitals etc.
  • Respond to the clients, staff and families in nursing care situations providing advice, expertise and guidance by telephone and when appropriate in person.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all clinical records and data completed within the allocated care packages.
  • Conduct and record field visits and assist the Registered manager with one-to-one performance reviews (spot checks) with each member of staff in Complex Care Children Packages and ensuring care plans are always up to date.
  • Identify training needs for staff and ensure training reflects developments in area of complex care delivery and clinical management.
  • To comply with local safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Follow an On- Call out of hours rota.
  • Attending quarterly review meetings.
  • Making sure all MAR charts, charts and documents are transcribed upon clients discharge and are up to date. Ensuring all information received upon discharge matches up existing care plans.
  • Children in need review meetings.  
  • Future development leading to head of field supervisors.
  • Fully flexible hours, you will be required to manage your own hours.
  • Ensure to communicate your diary to the Registered Manager.
  • To take part in investigations where clinical knowledge is needed,
  • Need to be able to deal with complaints/concerns effectively and promptly following our procedures.
  • Auditing and quality assurance, to take part with paperwork auditing such as observation charts, MAR charts and log sheets etc and take appropriate action for identified gaps/errors,
  • This list is not extensive to the role.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years post registration experience,
  • Exceptionally well organised individual with proven management experience,
  • Clinical Paediatric/Complex Care Experience desirable,
  • PICU Experience preferred
  • Team leadership experience,
  • An ability to communicate effectively at all levels,
  • Good report writing skills,
  • Comfortable in analysing service outcome information and problem-solving,
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills;
  • High energy level, self-starter and ability to handle conflicting and competing priorities,
