£22,000 - £24,000/annum

A secondary school in Redbridge are looking for a candidate who is happy to work as a Reintegration Mentor, they will provide support and mentoring to students who are struggling with behaviour and attending school. This person will act as a point of contact through exclusions, both internally and externally. They will work across KS3,4 & 5.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone who has an interest in Pastoral or Wellbeing support and may be looking to go into any senior pastoral role in the future. You will report to the Vice Principal and ensure the health and safety of all students in your care is priority. You will also be checking in with other teams within school and outside agencies to put plans into place to support individual needs and circumstances of the students.

Job Responsibilities

  • To be prepared to support and guide students within an exclusion setting.
  • To develop mentoring strategies and programmes to support the personal development of students  who are excluded
  • Promote progress, learning and integration back in mainstream learning
  • Liaise with other staff members to ensure that plans are put in place to support the students and complete and keep accurate records usings the school systems
  • Work with departments within school and outside agencies as required to deliver different learning activities for learners and encourage positive participation and outcomes

Preferred Skills

  • Hold the relevant experience of working in a similar setting or a coaching or mentoring qualification
  • Have the ability to deescalate difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Have a good understanding of the responsibility for personal health, safety, and welfare of students
  • Be able to prioritise work schedules to promote the best outcomes
  • Hold a valid DBS or apply for one
