Polytec are looking for an Instrument Assembly Engineer for our client based in Cambridge. Some travel will be required for this role usually 2-3 days at a time mostly within Europe and occasionally to the US.

Responsibilities:

* Inspection including identifying and logging non-conforming parts
* Kitting of parts to bills of materials
* Ensuring manufacturing records are kept up to date
* Review and update work instructions
* Ordering parts and maintaining stock levels to published forecast
* Process incoming equipment for repair following returns and repairs process
* Fault finding electromechanical and pneumatic systems
* Repair equipment to schedule
* Document repairs, completing service documentation to a high standard including fit for return to service testing
* Booking of parts used during repair
* Assist in transferring manufacturing processes to digital using ERP system
* Identify design and equipment improvements
* Assist with transfer of new designs into production

Requirements:

* Minimum ONC or City and Guilds Engineering qualification with relevant experience
* Good manual dexterity
* Experience of leak testing in pneumatic systems
* Experience of ERP systems and MRP
* Good understanding of engineering drawings
* Experience of hand tool use
* Experience of ESD environments
* Hand soldering skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office
