Our client is an award-winning interior design specialist based near Chelmsford, Essex. They are internationally renowned for the design, production, and installation of the highest quality interiors. They pride themselves on their portfolio of luxury private residences, grand & historic landmark properties, palaces around the globe and high-profile flagship stores.

We are looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor with at least 7+ years’ experience who has the following experience:

Key Deliverables
 

Knowledge of both JCT & NEC forms of contract, in order to effectively review contracts to ensure protection for business.

• Measurement and valuations of works for applications and final accounts on multiple projects.
• Identification & pricing of variations to the agreed contract works.
• Write & submit notices of delay/non-payment when contract terms are not met.
• Provide Cash Flow Forecasts
• Update & present CVR to company management.
• Reassess cost budgets for projects once handed over from estimating, in order to confirm realistic target gross margin. For the project.
• Undertake monthly project reviews with colleagues to ensure understanding of projects successes & difficulties. 
• Managing the disputes process with main contractors. Including the compilation of EOT & loss/expense claims.
• Attend Client meetings & create good working relationships with counterparts.
• Manage invoicing and debt management.
• Effective communication with all levels of personnel
• Provide training & guidance to junior staff on commercial management of projects.

What we’re looking for:
 

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar role (7+ years) - Essential
• A well-developed understanding of various forms of contract – NEC/JCT – Essential
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or other related discipline - Essential
• Good MS Excel skills – Essential
• Good communication skills – Essential
