Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer for a leading engineering company working on projects for the marine, subsea and offshore sectors.

Roles are available for both graduate level and experienced candidates looking to expand their career and develop with an industry leading business.

The successful candidates will be provide engineering design functions in relation to Panel design and general arrangement drawings. You will also be required to produce all associated documents including FAT,SIT and SAT procedures, BOM’s, design reports and FMECA.

Candidates will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline IE Electrical / Marine / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering.

Interested candidates will be experienced working with E Plan, 3D modelling and simulation platforms to take designs from concept to reality.

Hours

Mon - Thurs 0800 - 1630 / Friday 0800 - 1530

Role Description

• Preparing project documentation including basis of design, detailed functional design specification, FAT, SIT and SAT procedures.
• Creating design concepts and producing detailed design documentation from them including (but not limited to) electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cabinet and panel layout drawings, I/O lists, 3D models, bills of materials, alarms lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices, FMECA.
• Liaising with Purchasing for equipment procurement, preparing RFQs and technical procurement specifications.
• Liaising with Production, resolving design documentation issues and creating as built drawings.
• Start up, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and where necessary site commissioning site integration and acceptance testing.
• Production of final project close out documentation package including drawing updates, O&M manuals, spare parts lists.

Qualifications/ Skills

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline IE Electrical / Marine / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
• Demonstrable experience working within Electrical Design role with knowledge of Marine/ Offshore applications
• Experienced in use of EPLAN/ Solidworks 
• Excellent knowledge of electrical control panel design alongside knowledge of PLC’s, / HMI’s 
• Excellent understanding of electrical design principles
• Ability to manage own workload and also work across multiple projects
