Balfour Beatty are looking to appoint a Senior Assurance Auditor with previous experience in the Construction industry to join their Quality & Assurance team on a 6 month initial contract to be based at their Coleshill site with flexibility for hybrid working. 

  

The successful Senior Assurance Auditor will support the Balfour Beatty Vinci joint venture (BBV), working in partnership with High Speed Two Ltd (HS2) to deliver a world class railway in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance. The role will contribute to the continual monitoring of all operations - through the audit process - to ensure business and regulatory requirements are being met and controlled in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, support and improve the application of our business processes in the Integrated Management System.

  • Plan and coordinate audits to be conducted within the enabling functions, project delivery teams, the DJV and supply chain partners.

  • Conduct audits in accordance with ISO 19011:2018 - Guidelines for auditing management systems.

  • Prepare and distribute audit reports and apportion findings to indicate conformity or non-conformity.

  • Follow-up and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions for audit findings and verification of evidence for corrections.

  • Monitor, review and improve the Integrated Assurance Programme.

  • Prepare regular reports against Key Performance Indicators (KPI) analysing results and trends to report root causes to the Senior Leadership team.

  • Contribute to continued professional development through performance review and identification of appropriate training/coaching.

  • Assign roles and responsibilities for observers, subject-matter-experts and with colleagues during joint audits.

  • Apply a range of audit methods and coordinate with colleagues during combined Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental management system audits.

 

 

Key Skills / Experience

  • Experience in delivering a programme of audits in quality management systems, within a highly regulated industry.

  • Full working knowledge of management system standards.

  • Trained ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 14001:2015 or ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor and preferably IRCA Certificated Auditor.

  • Qualified to Diploma level/Degree level or similar equivalent.

  • Member of a relevant professional Institution - MCQI, MIEMA, CMIOSH or similar

  • Experience in managing quality and assurance in a complex multi-disciplinary industry.

  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills.

  • Relevant Construction / Civil Engineering / Railway Industry experience.

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated with an ability to build strong relationships at all levels across a multi-discipline organisation.
