This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing technology company specialising in working with machine OEMs to implement the latest technologies. The company is well established in the marketplace, having traded for over six years, and they are now looking to expand excellent in-house engineering team. They work across many sectors, including mobile and off-highway machinery, agriculture, renewable energy, electric vehicles, defence and marine. They are looking for an ambitious and highly skilled engineer to help their clients develop their machines by implementing new and innovative technological solutions.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interfacing – You will work closely with the customer, in parallel with the commercial team, to understand customer requirements and their evolution throughout the project lifecycle
• System Design – Translate the customer requirements into coherent and accurate technical specifications.
• Development – Implement the customer technical requirements within the system using the latest in real-time embedded development through higher level IDEs such as CODESYS as well as technical toolchains, including diagnostic tools
• Installation/Commissioning – Working at customer sites or remotely to support the installation of the developed solution, including commissioning with the customer as well as ongoing training and technical support
• Project Management – They use JIRA to manage all aspects of project management within our software development. This includes time tracking using the Tempo system built within JIRA.

Qualifications & experience

• 5+ years of real-world programming experience using the following coding platforms: CODESYS
• 5+ years of real-world experience with CAN-bus and higher-level CAN-bus protocols
• Exposure to non-CAN communication protocols (Ethernet-based, for example) would be an advantage but is not necessary
• Experience with on-highway engineering practices preferred but not essential
