About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

 As a Technical Clerk Support, you will have the following responsibilities,

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets contractual requirements
    and standards.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the MEH Alliance scope to enable compilation of
    contract deliverables into suitable documentation to support the construction
    management system needs.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Constantly evaluate the content of documents and develop innovative
    approaches for improvement.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely
    with various teams to understand project requirements.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop,        
    organise, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process
  • Research, create and maintain information architecture templates that uphold
    organisational standards, and allow for easy access.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a
    consistent and cohesive message across all documentation.
  • Assist with the creation of Construction Work Packs in the Switch system.
     

Who we're looking for

Do you have?

  • HNC/HND in relevant technical field.
  • IOSH Managing Safely preferred
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for
    multiple audiences.
  • Experience of working with engineering to improve the user experience
    (design and user interface), to help refine content and to create visuals
    and diagrams for technical support content.
  • Ability to obtain a high-level security clearance.
