Sustainability Coordinator

Our client is looking for a Sustainability Coordinator for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.

ROLE:

Supporting the organisation to successfully execute its ESG Strategy, ensuring alignment with the business's wider strategies and goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise directly with the Sustainability Steering Group (SSG) for guidance on corporate sustainability policy.
  • Supporting the organisation to successfully execute its Sustainability Strategy, ensuring alignment with the business's wider strategies and goals.
  • Owning and managing the implementation of targeted initiatives set out in the sustainability Plan and KPI tracker.
  • Monitoring and reporting to the SSG on progress of  the Sustainability plan and KPIs.
  • Supporting the development of regional decarbonisation plans, including reduction target setting and timeline to net zero.
  • Developing and implementing agreed corporate ESG/sustainability initiatives and strategies.
  • Reviewing and analysing corporate activities and international requirements and providing recommendations to the SSG related to enhancing the ESG/sustainability Strategy, methods, framework, and related tools.
  • Creating policies and guidelines related to sustainability programmes in the organisation.
  • Acting as a technical expert on sustainability frameworks, standards, reporting and disclosures for the companies global locations.
  • Advising the business on the practical application of sustainability frameworks and standards.
  • Capturing data and reporting on Scope 1, 2 and 3 within the organisation
  • Preparing reports for consumption by the business on performance against sustainability targets/KPIs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree graduate preferably in Environmental Science, Engineering, energy, ESG, sustainability or any equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in applying, measuring and reporting on global environmental standards and frameworks: such as UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and others
  • Experience implementing an ESG program.
  • The ability to travel when needed for meetings and site visits.
  • Strong process improvement experience

  • Effective communication/presentation skills
  • Strong collaborator, networking, and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative aspects) and ability to communicate effectively.
