The below job description will outline this position of: Materials Planner.
The key of the role is to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to for the production line as required, the avoid any disruption to production.

Duties and responsibilities of the Materials Planner:
• To ensure the supply of materials meets the production schedule
• Manage and understand, the risk to the material supply plan to minimise the impact on the production schedule.
• Lead the implementation of modifications with the supply base to obsolete stock and ensure materials are readily available
• Liaison with the team to ensure all inventory is recorded accuracy
• Develop and maintain supply relationships, to help help cost down.
• Use any MRP or IT system that is place, ensure that all the data is accurate and up to data, resolve any issues
• Deliver regular statistical reports, and be able to analysis
• Financial awareness, and a full understanding of hoe failure impacts the costs, production, and fulfilment
• Implement processes to agreed standards and targets, identify areas that need improvement.
• Recovery any cost as required, due to the result of supplier liability
• Support finance teams to achieve targets
• On issue of new prices lists, update and check and maintain all option BOM's within the company ERP system
• Be integral in the management of new product obsolescence management of materials as required via ECN, P&C and SCN process
Qualifications and requirement for the Materials Planner:
• Assertive, optimistic, and welcomes change
• Self motivate and able to work under pressure
• Good communicator, and maintain relationships
• Strong interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Project management skills
• Strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
Must have;
• Previous experience of material planning, ideally in a manufacturing background
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft excel, MRP (Material requirements planning) systems of similar
• Confident in the supply chain process
• Strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills
