SEN Learning Support Assistant

Make a Difference in the Life of a Year 10 Pupil with ADHD this September!

The school: 
This large Academy in the heart of Hackney is known for its academic excellence and thriving community. They are part of a Trust that overseas 6 secondary academies and 3 primary schools across London. They offer training and development to all staff to ensure excellent career development. The school has excellent transport links, 5 mins from the train station and bus stop directly outside the school on the main high road.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a Year 10 pupil with ADHD.
  • Assist in developing and implementing personalized learning strategies.
  • Help manage classroom activities and maintain an engaging learning environment.
  • Support the pupil in organizing tasks, managing time, and completing assignments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and promote the pupil’s progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant working with children with ADHD or other special educational needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and create a supportive relationship with the pupil.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (preferred but not essential).
  • A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the pupil’s individual needs.

Whats on Offer:

The rate for the role of Learning Support Assistant is £95.00 - £120.00 per day depending on experience. The role is to start September 2024 and will run until the end of the academic year. The hours are 8:30 – 15:45, term time only.  Ongoing professional development and training opportunities. Supportive and inclusive work environment.
