Job Title: Artisan Bread Baker

Starting date: ASAP

End date: Temp to Permanent (Contract length: 6 weeks initially)

Job days: Monday to Friday

Shift times: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Monday to Thursday), 12:00 PM to 09:00 PM (Friday)

Salary: £13 - £14 Per Hour

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of all ingredients used in the baking process
• Follow standard recipes steps to prepare ingredients and bake goods
• Ensure that all baked goods are properly mixed, shaped and baked according to standard recipes
• Confident in mixing dough using percentage recipes, hand weighing, moulding, and shaping bread and rolls
• Knowledge of sourdough baking
• Measuring and weighing wet and dry ingredients
• Using mixers to blend ingredients and preparing ovens and equipment
• Following procedures for dough resting and rising and kneading/shaping dough
• Packaging and arranging baked goods for shop displays
• Able to operate different types of mixers and a deck oven
• Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
• Able to manage stock levels appropriately, supporting regular stock rotation and checks
• Ensure cleanliness of the building, equipment and facilities are always to the highest standards
• Maintaining records, cleaning schedules and setting timers
• Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods

Qualification/ Certificates:

• Experience of artisan bread baking
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a bakery production role

Experience:

• Baking: 2 years (preferred)
