Job Title: Artisan Bread Baker
No of Staff Required: 2
Starting date: ASAP
End date: Temp to Permanent (Contract length: 6 weeks initially)
Job days: Monday to Friday
Shift times: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Monday to Thursday), 12:00 PM to 09:00 PM (Friday)
Salary: £13 - £14 Per Hour
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of all ingredients used in the baking process
- Follow standard recipes steps to prepare ingredients and bake goods
- Ensure that all baked goods are properly mixed, shaped and baked according to standard recipes
- Confident in mixing dough using percentage recipes, hand weighing, moulding, and shaping bread and rolls
- Knowledge of sourdough baking
- Measuring and weighing wet and dry ingredients
- Using mixers to blend ingredients and preparing ovens and equipment
- Following procedures for dough resting and rising and kneading/shaping dough
- Packaging and arranging baked goods for shop displays
- Able to operate different types of mixers and a deck oven
- Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
- Able to manage stock levels appropriately, supporting regular stock rotation and checks
- Ensure cleanliness of the building, equipment and facilities are always to the highest standards
- Maintaining records, cleaning schedules and setting timers
- Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods
Qualification/ Certificates:
- Experience of artisan bread baking
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a bakery production role
