Are you a General Foreman looking for a new opportunity? We are keen to speak to professional supervisors/team leaders/foremen with a background in civil engineering and experience of both planned and reactive works. Based in the South West and working from our valued client’s Glastonbury depot, you’ll join a successful and growing company with works in engineering and rail related infrastructure activities with offices UK wide

Your responsibilities as a General Foreman:

  • Main duties will include the allocation of staff, plant, equipment and other requirements to complete tasks within designated timeframes
  • Conduct site inductions, briefings and inspections and keeping documentation of any alterations
  • Management of site operatives and subcontractors
  • Understand project objectives, timescales and ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies at all times
  • Keep meticulous site records in required timescales and update progress on a weekly basis
  • Collaborate closely with Site and Project Managers as well as Site Engineers to address any alterations to site operations
  • Identify further training needs
  • Any other reasonable duties as necessitated by the role

Requirements as a Site Foreman:

  • Prior experience of rail civil engineering and particularly earthworks
  • Prior supervisor/team leader/foreman experience
  • Strong safety awareness and knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • A positive attitude
  • Please note that this role will require you to regularly work away from home and includes weekend and evening work
  • This position will be subject to two employment references, a Drugs & Alcohol and medical test and driver’s license check.
