Shifts – 7.45am-3.45pm / 3pm-11pm / 7.45am-11pm
Salary - up to £45k DOE

You will be responsible for the running of a Registered Children’s home and to ensure and be responsible for the provision of the care to each individual young person, in accordance with their care plan, agreed objectives, standards, policies and procedures. This is a senior management role, and the post holder must demonstrate high levels of professionalism, competence and leadership and be able to confidently represent the organisation in a wide range of professional settings.

The Registered Manager will be accountable directly to the Managing Director and will work closely with the company secretary and Standards Manager and be supported by the Deputy Manager and Support Workers.

Role of Registered Manager:

  • Is responsible for the management and supervision of Deputy Manager(s), Team Leaders and Residential Support Worker team and any ancillary staff.
  • The Registered Manager will contribute to the referral assessment process of young people, conducting relevant assessments, matching, placement offers and planned admissions to the home.
  • The Registered Manager is expected to work flexible hours to meet the changing needs within the home.
  • Ensure there is sufficient staff coverage at all levels to maintain the efficient and safe running of the home.
  • You are required as part of your normal duties to be “on call” in order to provide out of hours cover to deal with emergencies.
  • Provide training as identified to the staff group.
  • Look after the management of the home, including the day-to-day running and the quality of life enjoyed by the young people and needs to demonstrate high levels of team leadership and staff co-ordination.
  • Responsible for risk assessments, care plans and progress reports.
  • In accordance with Regulation 45, the Registered Manager will conduct regular quality reviews of the home and identify trends and other aspects for development.
  • Take responsibility for managing quality reviews and inspections, including those conducted by the Regulation 44 inspector, local authority Quality Assurance officers, and Ofsted/CQC.
  • Ensure that there is a monthly team meeting at the home and that staff attendance is optimal.
  • Ensure that the care and well-being of the young people is maintained at the highest level at all times.
  • Ensure that all young people receive proper medical, dental and other ancillary care appropriate to their needs and that they are kept under regular planned review.
  • Encourage, stimulate and participate in social activities for the benefit of the young people.
  • Establish good relationships with the local community.
  • To comply at all times with statutory legislation requirements.
  • Co-operate at all times with the differing Social Services Departmental staff and other professionals in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
  • Attend Company and other meetings as required.

Candidate Experience:

  • Driving License is essential.
  • Diploma Level 5 Leadership & Management preferred.
  • Experienced working as a Registered Manager or similar role is essential
  • Proven background working in a senior management role supporting learning difficulties, mental health, emotional difficulties and managing complex needs 
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Strong management and IT skills are required.
  • Ensure best practice.
