ESTIMATOR/SURVEYOR FOR PRIME RESIDENTIAL/REFURBISHMENT BUILDING CONTRACTOR 

Experienced estimator/surveyor wanted for financial control of projects from £500k to £5m+ throughout London and the Southeast. The successful candidate must have at least five years’ experience in a similar role within the high-end residential market and preferably have a degree in quantity surveying/commercial management. 

You will be responsible for the company’s estimating and commercial management and will be assisted by a junior estimator/surveyor. You will work closely with and will report directly to the Managing Director/company owner. 

Estimator, Surveyor - The role will include: 

• Estimating and negotiating tenders 

• Placing and managing subcontractor orders 

• Purchasing materials 

• Prepare cashflow forecasts 

• Prepare and submit monthly valuations 

• Managing subcontractor applications and payments and retention schedules 

• Pricing and agreement of variations 

• Prepare cost reports/monthly CVRs 

• Preparation of project programme and monitoring progress 

• Dealing with contractual correspondence including monitoring delays and applying for extensions of time 

• Preparing and agreeing final accounts 

• Conduct interim site visits to assess progress, and ensure quality standards with contract team  

• Work with site managers and project teams to address any cost-related issues 

• Any other required duties

You must be computer literate and able to use Excel, Word and Microsoft Project/Asta Power Project, and have good written and spoken English skills. 

This is a site-based role on up to three projects. You will need your own car and hold a full clean driving license. 

Salary negotiable depending on experience, plus performance related bonus scheme.
