Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role within a company that truly look after their employees?

We are delighted to be working with a well-respected Telford based company who are looking to recruit a hardworking and adaptable person into their friendly finance team. This award winning manufacturing company has sustainability at the heart of its operations and are passionate about their customers receiving the best products and service in their market.

  • 36.5 hours per week – 8.30am to 5pm with a one hour lunch weekdays but a 4pm finish on Fridays.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

Purchase Ledger

  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring that invoices are matched to delivery notes and approved before passing for payment.
  • Deal with supplier invoice queries and monitor the invoice log to ensure that invoices are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Complete regular supplier statement reconciliations to ensure that invoices are processed in time for payment.
  • Raise supplier payments: mid month, month end and any ad-hoc payments.

Sales Ledger

  • Liaise with customers to ensure payments are received on time and in full.
  • Monitor customer credit limits to ensure that balances are full covered.
  • Work with Senior Accountant to ensure that all customer invoice queries are dealt with promptly.
  • Process manual sales invoices and credit notes.
  • Allocate and post customer cash receipts.

Other Areas

  • Petty cash.
  • Process the four weekly wages.
  • Process wages journal and accrue for unpaid wages at month end.
  • Raise HMRC, payroll and all other non-purchase ledger payments.
  • Assist with requests from external auditors as part of the year end process.
  • Support the Accounts Department with additional ad hoc tasks as delegated by the Financial Controller.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • At least 2 years in a finance role with significant experience in purchase ledger.
  • Hardworking and focussed on meeting deadlines.
  • Flexible in approach and always ready to help out colleagues as required.
